At Frederick Bird, pupils are taught Religious Education through the schemes of work in Coventry and Warwickshire’s Locally Agreed Syllabus. We teach children about the six major world religious – Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism, as well as the beliefs and opinions of people with non-religious views.

Alongside the teaching and learning in the classroom of religious education, children in every year group, from 1 -6 will have the opportunity to participate in a visit to a local place of worship, enhancing their understanding of how religions are practised locally.

In addition to this, Frederick Bird also partake in a termly Celebration Day to highlight festivals celebrated by our school community.

Our aim is that, through the teaching of religious education, all children are prepared for life in a modern and diverse Britain, and that they develop an understanding and respect of others in our school, community and the wider world.
