Over the last half term, the children in Year 5 have been reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as part of their English and Reading lessons. Unsurprisingly, the children have loved reading about ‘the boy who lived’, and have written excellent diaries from Harry’s point of view to show how he felt at interesting moments in the story, such as Harry’s visit to the zoo for Dudley’s birthday and also Harry’s dramatic rescue by Hagrid, the keeper of keys at Hogwarts.
This week the children have been writing newspaper style reports about the events of the first Quidditch match of the school season between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Read on to find out about what happened to Harry Potter, the youngest ever seeker, in his first Quidditch match. Were dark forces at play during the match? Was Harry really the hero?
