Celebrating Culture Diversity

On Wednesday 6th February 2019, Year 5 celebrated culture diversity in our year group. To celebrate we all brought traditional clothes in to change into and traditional food we eat at home. We all tried a range of new food from different cultures, such as rice, curry, samosas, ice cream, jelly, waffles, Yorkshire puddings and lots more. It was all scrumptious! We were all full up by playtime, including the teachers!
Mrs Porter, who is our deputy head teacher, did an assembly to tell us about her culture. It was very interesting.
We also played rugby outside with Mr Henson, danced with Mrs Summan and some children even had mehndi and their hair braided by parents who kindly offered to come in and join us.
It was a great opportunity to learn about each other’s cultures!
